Róisín de Buitléar is an artist, educator, curator and writer. She has worked with glass since 1982, drawing inspiration from her cultural heritage. She has site-specific installations in public buildings throughout Ireland. Her artworks are represented public collections in Ireland, Britain, Japan, France, China and the USA. Her recent work focuses on sound objects for exhibition and performance. She was the project director of Waterford the Glass City, celebrating glass design in Waterford city as part of the Year of Design in Ireland. This year she was appointed the artistic director of the Palau del Vidre international festival of glass France.
