Connemara designer, art director & stylist Alison Conneely weaves an ageless thread between the present and the past. Home crafted and rooted in the fabrics of her native soil, she merges the strength of the shepherdess with the ephemeral wanderer.
Her last clothing collection entitled ‘Bella’s Faul’, was an exploration of her grandmother Bella & her homeland Faul in the West of Ireland, memory, and the notion of geology as mythology.
The Shuttle Hive: A Century of Rising Threads, explores the many fragments produced by 1916. Working with collective memory as the site of design research, she untangles her objective to explore textile as method in the collective weaving together of cultural experience.
